29: A Pair Changes the Target, Not the Captured Cards
For the selected rules, a valid pair on the calling side reduces its requirement by four, with a floor of fifteen. A call of eighteen therefore falls to fifteen, not fourteen.

Write the adjusted target beside the original call. Do not add imaginary card points to the captured pile as well. The tactical benefit is a smaller requirement; its size depends on how close the original call already was to the minimum.
