8IPL: A Fixture List Needs Every Opponent
Plan a four-team round robin by listing each pairing once. Check the fixtures for repeated opponents and missing meetings.

Four quiz teams want to meet every other team once. Call them A, B, C and D while building the schedule.
Start with A against B, C and D. That gives A all three opponents.
List each meeting once
Then add B-C and B-D. Do not add B-A again; that meeting is already on the sheet.

Finally add C-D. Six fixtures now cover every unique pair.
Check each team's appearances: three for every team. Unequal appearances can reveal a missing or repeated fixture.
The total of appearances is twelve because each fixture contains two teams. That does not mean twelve matches.
Arrange three rounds
A compact arrangement uses three rounds: AB with CD, AC with BD, then AD with BC.

Within each round, no team appears twice. This matters if both fixtures run simultaneously.
Actual timing also needs venue and break information. The pairing plan solves opponent coverage, not every scheduling detail.
Check each proposed round for a team appearing twice at the same time. Covering every pairing is necessary, but it does not automatically produce a playable timetable. The three-round arrangement works because each team has exactly one opponent in each round and no team is booked into both simultaneous matches.
The 8IPL scheduling exercise turns a crowded list into three checkable rounds. Verify opponents and simultaneous participation before filling in the clock times.
