A New Rule Starts at Its Announced Boundary
A rule change needs an effective point. Without it, the same hand may be judged using incompatible versions.

A rule change needs an effective point. Without it, the same hand may be judged using incompatible versions.
Suppose a practice match announces a new scoring rule from the next deal. The hand already in progress remains under the old rule. A player cannot apply the new calculation to that hand simply because the announcement arrived before the final score was displayed.
Keep the announcement time separate from its effective boundary. Next deal, next round and immediately are different instructions. Apply the version attached to the relevant hand, then retain that version with its result so a later review uses the same conditions.
