A Tie-Breaker Applies Only After the Main Comparison Ties

A secondary comparison does not replace the primary one. It becomes relevant only when the primary values are equal.

Consider a practice ranking that compares points first, then fewer errors. A has twelve points and three errors. B has ten points and no errors. A leads because the points differ; B's cleaner error record does not override the first comparison.

If both players instead have twelve points, fewer errors can separate them. Read the comparisons in their stated order and stop at the first difference. Combining them into an improvised weighted score would create a new ranking method.
