Announcing a Suit Does Not Change the Printed Card
In a matching-card exercise, a wild card lets its player choose the suit required for the next ordinary play. The chosen suit controls the next action; it does not repaint the wild card.

In a matching-card exercise, a wild card lets its player choose the suit required for the next ordinary play. The chosen suit controls the next action; it does not repaint the wild card.
Suppose the player chooses hearts. A following heart meets the suit condition. A club does not meet that condition merely because the wild card has a dark border. Any permission to play another wild card must come from a separate rule.
Keep the physical card and the active suit announcement as separate facts. If the next player later chooses clubs through a permitted action, that changes the active condition from that point onward, not the earlier play.
