Classic Canasta: A Bigger Meld Still Has a Three-Wild Limit
Classic Canasta allows no more than three wild cards in one meld. Increasing its total size does not increase that allowance.

A meld contains five natural kings and three wild cards. Adding another natural king is possible, but adding a fourth wild card is not legal under this rule. Eight existing cards do not create permission for a fourth wild.
Check the wild-card count separately from the meld's size. A large group can still fail a restriction that applies to one kind of card inside it.
