Cribbage: An Out-of-Order Run Can Still Count
A pegging run uses a consecutive block of played cards whose ranks form a sequence. Their play order need not be numerical.

A pegging run uses a consecutive block of played cards whose ranks form a sequence. Their play order need not be numerical.
The latest cards are 6, 4 and 5, with no intervening card. The final five completes a three-card run. Their suits do not matter to this particular score.
Sort those recent ranks mentally to test completeness, but retain their actual play order in the record. Sorting is a checking aid, not permission to reach back across unrelated intervening cards.
