Cribbage: Reaching Fifteen and Saying Fifteen Are Different
The pegging award belongs to the play that brings the running total to fifteen. A single card need not have that value.
The pegging award belongs to the play that brings the running total to fifteen. A single card need not have that value.
The running total is nine. Leena adds a six, reaching fifteen and scoring two. If she instead adds a five, the total is fourteen and the fifteen award does not apply.
Reconstruct the count immediately before and after the card. The spoken total should report the arithmetic, not substitute for it.
