Equal High Cards Need a Tie Rule
Multiple packs can produce two physically different cards with the same rank and suit. Ordinary rank comparison cannot separate those cards.

Multiple packs can produce two physically different cards with the same rank and suit. Ordinary rank comparison cannot separate those cards.
Suppose a practice trick contains two heart aces from different packs, and both qualify as highest. A rule saying the earlier eligible card wins would select the first ace. A rule declaring tied tricks would produce another result. Neither answer follows merely from recognising the aces.
Identify the duplicated cards and their order, then apply the stated tie procedure. Do not invent a suit preference: both cards already share a suit. A complete rule must resolve the remaining equality or explicitly leave the trick tied.
