Euchre: Playing Alone Removes the Partner from the Hand
When a maker goes alone in North American Euchre, their partner sits out that hand. The lone player competes against both defenders.

Ravi declares a lone hand while Nisha is his partner. Nisha's cards are set aside; she cannot contribute a trump to rescue a trick. Each trick has three played cards rather than four.
Check participation before evaluating a trick. A card from the inactive partner cannot become part of the result, even when it would have been the strongest card.
