Getaway: Everyone Plays to the Opening Spade Trick
The holder of A♠ opens the selected Getaway version. Everyone contributes once, following spades if possible, and the opening cards go to the waste even if somebody had no spade.
The holder of A♠ opens the selected Getaway version. Everyone contributes once, following spades if possible, and the opening cards go to the waste even if somebody had no spade.
Do not apply the later interruption rule to this special opening. A void player can release another suit without making the ace holder pick up this first trick. The ace holder then leads again, so assess the next choice from the remaining hand after everyone has shed one card.
