Gin Rummy: Going Gin Closes the Layoff Opportunity
When the knocker goes gin, the opponent cannot reduce deadwood by laying cards onto the gin hand.

When the knocker goes gin, the opponent cannot reduce deadwood by laying cards onto the gin hand.
The gin hand contains a club run ending in eight. The opponent holds the club nine. That card looks extendable, but the normal non-gin layoff opportunity is unavailable here.
Check how the hand ended before testing attachments. The same card can be eligible after an ordinary knock and ineligible after gin because the ending category changes the opponent's rights.
