Gin Rummy: Layoff Order Can Unlock Another Card
An extension can change a run's endpoint, making another held card eligible afterwards.

The knocker's club run is 6♣–7♣–8♣. The opponent holds 4♣ and 5♣ as unmatched cards. Five can be attached first, then four extends the new low end. Four alone cannot jump over the missing five.
Show the legal intermediate group. Listing both cards without their sequence can conceal whether every extension was valid at the moment it was made.
