GoodSlots: The Finish Did Not Reveal the Route
A final position does not reveal the route taken. Compare possible movements before describing a journey from a single screenshot.

A marker finishes on square five. One viewer says it moved three steps; another says it moved seven. The screenshot contains only the finish.
Without the starting square and movement record, the final position does not determine the route. Several histories can lead to the same destination.

Two routes can share a finish
On a straight numbered line, starting at two and moving three forward reaches five. Starting at eight and moving three backward also reaches five.
Write the two routes beneath identical finish pictures. The comparison shows why the picture alone cannot choose between them.
If a question asks only where the marker ended, five is sufficient. If it asks how it travelled, obtain the missing history.
A short recording can add the missing information if it includes the start and all relevant moves. A clip beginning halfway still leaves earlier movement unknown.

Check the recorded movement
Do not infer an unseen move from an attractive animation effect. Identify the actual positional changes that the recording shows.
For a classroom version, let two partners secretly choose different routes to five. A third person sees only the final board and lists what remains unknown.
Reveal the routes afterwards. The exercise rewards accurate limits on the explanation rather than the most detailed invented story.
A GoodSlots replay becomes useful when it preserves the transitions that matter. A clear final image and a complete route answer different questions.
