Indian Rummy: Move the Joker Where It Completes More
Suppose a pure run is secure, 10♠–J♠ needs a queen, and two natural kings need a third card. A single joker cannot complete both unfinished groups simultaneously.

Suppose a pure run is secure, 10♠–J♠ needs a queen, and two natural kings need a third card. A single joker cannot complete both unfinished groups simultaneously.
Try each placement while leaving all other cards unchanged. Which arrangement leaves a more realistic remaining connection? A new natural king may release the joker for the spade run. Revisit its placement after useful draws; the first group that used the joker does not own it for the rest of the hand.
