Jaiho 777: When Does a Call Become Locked?

A call entered on a device, a call accepted by the game and the first card appearing on screen can occur at different moments.

Editorial note: This is a conditional card-rule teaching example, not a verified description of the named platform.

A call entered on a device, a call accepted by the game and the first card appearing on screen can occur at different moments. A rule about changing a call must identify which event closes the window.

An order of events, not a visual guess

In a teaching trick-taking game, suppose calls lock when the system confirms the calling phase is complete. A revision request arrives after that event but before the first card's animation appears. The request is early relative to the animation and late relative to the stated lock.

That example does not establish Jaiho 777's actual timing policy. It demonstrates why “I changed it before I saw a card” may be insufficient evidence under a differently defined deadline.

Record the relevant times

Keep the original accepted call, the lock event and the revision's acceptance or rejection separate. Device clock labels may have limited precision. Two entries showing the same second do not prove their exact order or that both changes were accepted.

The rule should also clarify whether editing a number is merely a draft until confirmation. A visible new number may not yet replace the previously accepted call. In a review, use the committed value at the stated boundary. This preserves the distinction between a player's proposed change and the call that officially belongs to the hand.
