Mendikot: The Trump Ten Still Has Higher Cards Above It
Mendikot uses ordinary ace-high ranking within each suit. The trump ten is a valuable target, but it remains below the trump jack, queen, king and ace.

Before treating 10♠ as safe when spades are trump, track the higher spades already played. Its scoring importance does not promote its rank. A smaller-looking target often needs protection from a partner's control or careful timing, rather than being led simply because it is a ten of trump.
