Texas Hold’em remains the deepest strategy game among India’s seven popular phone tables — and the only one with fully audited international live payouts published seat-by-seat.
At the inaugural APT Championship Main Event in Taipei (buy-in TWD 311,000 / ~US$10,000 freezeout), 671 entries built a prize pool of TWD 194,080,973 (~US$6.22 million).
India’s Nishant Sharma entered the final day as chip leader and won the title for TWD 37,030,773 — about US$1.19 million — reported as the largest Main Event payout in Asian Poker Tour history.
Final-table runners included John Costiniano (Philippines, ~US$733k) and Alexandru Papazian (Romania, ~US$524k). APT noted Sharma had qualified via a US$1,700 satellite.
Indian poker context: coverage described Sharma as only the third Indian player to clear a seven-figure USD score in a single tournament win, climbing India’s all-time money list.
