The Kachuful trump cycle commonly represented by the name runs through spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts.

For a session using that repeating cycle, the scheduled suit determines trump; the dealer does not choose a new favourite after seeing the hand.

Round one uses spades, round two diamonds, round three clubs and round four hearts.

Round five returns to spades.

A missed entry on the score sheet can shift every later round if players rely only on memory.

Write the Kachuful trump cycle before dealing and mark the current round.

Then evaluate card strength for that suit.

An ace in yesterday's trump suit has no special trump status today unless the schedule brings the suit back.
