The Open Rummy joker limit is three within one sequence. Extending a long run does not remove that cap.

Adding a fourth substitute at its end remains invalid, even though the run would look longer and closer to completion.

A matching natural card offers a different possibility.

Count both printed and sliding substitutes when checking the Open Rummy joker limit.

Do this before moving a card so the existing legal run stays intact while you consider another arrangement.
