RVIP: Which Version of the Hand Are We Reviewing?

Keep the original and revised card layouts clearly labelled in a group discussion. A correct comment can become misleading beside the wrong image.

A group chat contains two pictures of a practice layout and several replies between them. One reader opens only the latest reply: “The repeated suit is still there.” She assumes it describes the latest picture. In fact, the reply was written about the original image before the correction arrived.

Name the two versions

The sender labels the first image A and the corrected image B. A small group in A contained 9♥ 9♥ 9♣. In the separate corrected example B, it is 9♥ 9♦ 9♣. The example has changed, so a criticism of A cannot simply be carried over without inspecting B.

Keep the earlier record

Deleting A would make the discussion harder to follow. Leave it labelled as the earlier proposal and add a brief description of the change. The purpose is not to pretend the first attempt was correct, but to let everyone understand what the correction addressed.

Reply to a specific layout

A useful response begins “In B...” or attaches the relevant image. If the reviewer cannot tell which version is intended, resolve that before checking more rules. Message order alone can be unreliable when several people respond after different delays.

The final note links the accepted explanation to the layout it actually evaluates. This is a small habit for shared learning, but it prevents a frustrating loop: the learner fixes an issue while new readers keep repeating an old comment. A clear revision record lets the conversation advance.
