Building a house is connected to having the matching capture card in hand. A house valued at eleven needs an eleven-valued collector; a queen does not collect it merely by being higher.

Before committing cards to a build, identify the matching card and consider whether you are about to spend it elsewhere. A build is a planned future collection, not points already secured. Opponents can affect that plan, so count only cards actually captured when recording the score.
