Removing spaces from two names can make their spelling look identical without proving that they refer to the same product. A documented alias connects the names through a publisher or product identity. Similar typography alone does not make two files interchangeable.

Preserve the original names

Write each name as the source presents it. Then examine any verifiable publisher details and product identifiers associated with that source. Missing information should remain missing; it should not be filled from an unrelated listing with a convenient name.

Aliases need a connection

A documented relationship may establish that two spellings refer to one product. Without that relationship, describe them as similar names. Neither matching spaces nor removing spaces proves that two files are interchangeable.

Compare two fictional listings: “Card Garden” and “CardGarden”. One names Publisher A and the other names Publisher B. Removing the space makes the titles match, but it leaves the publisher difference untouched. The next question is whether a documented relationship explains that difference, not which spelling looks more familiar.

What a documented name change adds

If a publisher’s own dated notice links an old name to a new name, it supplies a reason to connect those names. Keep the date and the exact product with that connection. It does not authenticate every file using either name, and an unrelated listing cannot inherit the relationship simply by copying the title.
