Spades: A Failed Nil Trick Does Not Repair the Partner's Contract
Under the basic scoring described here, a failed Nil player's tricks do not satisfy the partner's bid; they count as team bags.
Under the basic scoring described here, a failed Nil player's tricks do not satisfy the partner's bid; they count as team bags.
The Nil player takes one trick. The partner, who bid five, takes four. Adding their tricks to make five would wrongly rescue the partner's contract. The Nil fails, the ordinary bid fails, and the Nil trick has its separate bag treatment.
Keep the taker attached to every trick when a Nil bid is involved.
