Spin Gold: At Least, Exactly and At Most Change the Same Card Test

Small quantity words carry large consequences.

Editorial note: This is a conditional card-rule teaching example, not a verified description of the named platform.

Small quantity words carry large consequences. “At least two”, “exactly two” and “at most two” are three different conditions, even when all refer to matching cards.

Test the boundary with three cards

In a teaching exercise, suppose three distinct cards satisfy the stated matching condition. Three meets “at least two”. It does not meet “exactly two” or “at most two”. No complicated calculation is needed; the important work is retaining the comparison word.

Now test one matching card. It satisfies “at most two” but fails the other two conditions. This second case prevents the phrase “at most” from being misread as a requirement to obtain two.

Define what is being counted

The count might concern physical cards, groups or completed matching events. Two copies of a screenshot do not necessarily create two events. Likewise, one card satisfying two descriptive properties does not automatically count as two cards.

A Spin Gold rules explanation should write the object and quantity together: for example, “at least two distinct cards meeting this condition”. Removing either “at least” or “distinct cards” can change the test. The lesson applies to reading a specified card rule, not to assuming that a brand name or a promotional number defines the condition.
