Yono 777: The Fastest Attempt Was Not the Whole Session
Compare two sets of practice times using the minimum, mean and median. Each measure answers a different question about the recorded attempts.

Two practice sheets report solving times. Sheet A has 8, 9, 10 and 33 seconds; sheet B has 14, 14, 15 and 15.
If the question is the fastest single attempt, A wins with eight seconds. That statement ignores how the other attempts went.

Calculate the mean
For the mean, A totals sixty seconds across four attempts, giving fifteen. B totals fifty-eight, giving fourteen and a half.
The median tells another part of the story: A's middle two are nine and ten, giving 9.5; B's are fourteen and fifteen, giving 14.5.
The long thirty-three-second attempt raises A's mean strongly. Do not erase it merely because it disrupts the preferred summary.
Ask whether that attempt followed the same conditions. A recorded interruption might justify a separate explanation, but it should not be invented afterwards.

Describe this sample only
For these four attempts, B's times are closer together. That describes this sheet, not a guaranteed future performance.
Choose the summary that answers the actual question and show the original times nearby. Readers can then see what the summary leaves out.
A useful comparison might report fastest, mean and range separately. Avoid compressing every feature into an unexplained “better player” label.
The Yono 777 timing puzzle ends with a question worth asking of any leaderboard: which performance feature does this number actually measure?
