A Short Deck Cannot Borrow Every Full-Deck Example

Begin with the actual inventory
For a teaching example, exclude ranks two through five. A natural A-2-3-4-5 combination is then impossible because four required ranks are absent. Repeating a familiar full-deck example would describe cards that cannot be dealt from this inventory.
That observation is separate from deciding how an ace behaves at another sequence boundary. Any special ace treatment needs an explicit rule. Likewise, a changed deck composition is a reason to consult the variant's ranking table, not permission to invent a new ordering.
Keep two comparisons separate
The first comparison concerns available cards: which ranks, suits and special cards are present? The second concerns evaluation: which combinations are recognised and how are they ordered? A correct inventory does not supply a missing evaluation table.
Its practical value is a consistency check: every natural card in a worked example must exist in the declared deck, and every exceptional ranking must be supported by the chosen variant's own definition.
Count the cards that remain
Removing four ranks from each of four suits removes sixteen cards from a standard fifty-two-card pack, leaving thirty-six. This inventory calculation does not prove that the shortened deck uses any particular straight or flush ranking. It simply provides a check on whether an example has quietly reintroduced a removed rank or counted the original pack size.
