Reversing a Ranking Does Not Rewrite Every Rule
A variant may change which hand ranks higher without changing how many cards make a hand. “Low wins” is not a complete substitute rulebook.

Identify the clause that changes
In a teaching comparison, each participant must present exactly three cards. The exercise then changes the ordering used to compare valid hands. Presenting only two cards remains outside the stated input requirement, even if those two cards have low ranks.
Other unchanged conditions may include which deck is used, whether special cards are permitted and how ties are treated. Do not assume that every comparison component reverses merely because one heading uses the word reverse. A variant might define its categories and within-category order separately.
Write a narrow before-and-after explanation
State the original requirement, the replacement clause and the conditions that remain in force. Use a complete valid hand in each example. If the rule source does not specify how a particular category is evaluated, preserve that gap rather than applying a convenient general reversal.
A two-card entry still fails the three-card input condition. Reversing an ordering only changes the comparison that the replacement clause names; it does not waive every other requirement.
Reverse only the comparison that is actually specified
Define a simple exercise comparing three-card high-card hands, with lower highest rank preferred and no repeated ranks or sequences. Changing that comparison does not make a two-card submission eligible. Nor does it settle how a pair would rank, because pairs lie outside the exercise's input. A narrow definition gives fewer answers, but each answer follows from the rule supplied.
