How to Recognise an Unverified Support Profile
A profile calling itself official support is making a claim about its identity. The source of the contact and the information it requests matter more than the reassuring label.

Preserve where the contact came from
A search advertisement, forwarded message and unsolicited private chat are different sources. Record the source and exact claim. Do not convert a copied contact into an official number merely because several pages repeat it.
Pay attention to the request
Requests for an OTP, remote control of a device or an upfront payment to “release” funds deserve scrutiny. A reassuring profile photo does not provide evidence that these requests form an authorised process.
Keep the message as evidence without sharing authentication secrets or granting access in response to the claim.
Repeated contact details are not independent confirmation
Several pages may copy the same unverified handle from one another. Their agreement then reflects repetition, not separate checks. Preserve where the contact was first encountered and what relationship is actually documented. If no connection to the service is established, describe the profile as claiming to offer support rather than silently promoting it to an authorised channel.
Check the identity outside the message
If an unsolicited profile sends a link that supposedly proves its identity, that link is still part of the same claim. Compare the profile with a contact channel you had independently established before the message arrived. If the details do not match, do not explain away the difference merely because the sender sounds helpful or knows the product name.
